IoT Manager

The IoT Manager feature is part of the Enterprise Custom License. If you want to get the best out of IoT feature please book a meeting with us here.

Your IoT (Internet of Things) devices can send data captured by various sensors to the Moicon cloud server. The information is then forwarded to the Moicon App, giving you real-time access to information about all the areas, machines and equipment you are tracking in your operations.

By continuously monitoring the associated metrics, you can optimize your processes over time, and prevent accidents before they happen.

If you connect IoT devices to rooms in Moicon, you will be able to see data coming from their endpoints. All data can be visualized and shaped by using particles and colors.

Toggle Visibility

Open IoT Manager and toggle it on.

Rooms and Volumes

Rooms are used to visualize data coming from IoT devices inside a 3D space.

Open Section Manager, select a section and click on the Create Room action button to create a room. You can also optionally add volumes to the room. Volumes can be used to organize and seperate various data connected to the same room.

Properties

  • Room properties:

    • Active: Allows you to activate or deactivate individual rooms within the IoT visualization system. When a room is deactivated, its data will not be displayed. This feature enables you to focus on specific rooms or exclude certain rooms from the visualization based on your requirements.

    • Name visible: The visibility of room name labels in the 3D space. Turning this switch on will display the names associated with each room, making it easier to identify and differentiate them in the visualization. Conversely, turning it off will hide the room names, providing a cleaner view of the 3D space.

  • Section properties:

    • Switch at section level: allowing you to quickly enable or disable all rooms within a specific section of the IoT visualization. It provides a convenient way to toggle the visibility or inclusion of multiple rooms in one action, streamlining the management of data and visualization settings.

Double-clicking on a room either in the 3D viewport or inside Section Manager, triggers a fit-to-view action. This action adjusts the camera position or zoom level in the 3D space to focus on the selected room.

Add Custom Property - IoT

With custom properties you can create IoT fields and assign data for specific rooms.

Input Data hub, Data source, Data type, Data binding and Sensor Id to connect sensor data with your selected room. By adjusting position, rotation and size, you can make the particle box appear in the right place.

Specify density to control the number of particles inside your room.

Graph Charts

Go back to IoT Manager to see real-time graph charts of your IoT data.

Use Cases

Visualize IoT Sensor Data

By creating a visual representation of your IoT data in the form of particles, their density and color will allow you to accurately assess the conditions inside your factory.

Moicon supports a whole range of sensor types, and these are just some of the ways to use them. Access sensor data from anywhere, analyze graphs, get information about your factory condition and prevent accidents before they happen.
