What is a IAM file?
IAM is Inventor's assembly format. Like its SolidWorks counterpart, an IAM file contains references to component files (.ipt parts and other .iam subassemblies) plus the constraints that position them, rather than embedding the geometry itself.
Inventor's answer to moving a referenced structure around is Pack and Go, which copies an assembly together with everything it references. For large machine models this referencing approach is what keeps individual files manageable.

Complete machines and lines designed in Inventor exist as IAM files, most commonly at equipment manufacturers and engineering teams standardized on Autodesk tools.
How to import IAM files into Moicon

Open your project and drop the asset into the viewport. From there you can position, clone, and scale it like any other asset in your twin.
